Understanding Your Match
We believe that all teachers benefit from great professional development…and that professional development should look different for everyone. Coaching Capacity is built around the idea that everyone gets access to outstanding resources for their classrooms. Then, additional supports are layered in a way that works for an individual teacher and coach. Here’s what to expect from a coaching match:
Self-Guided Coaching
In self-guided coaching (also called monthly coaching in some programs), teachers work towards their own action plans. A coach checks in on a regular basis (e.g., monthly), and teachers can always ask for more support!
Small Group Coaching
In small group coaching (called “bimonthly coaching” in some programs), teachers meet with a coach and a small group of other teachers. There’s a consistent plan for each meeting, and teachers support each other in achieving individual and group goals.
Individualized Coaching
In individual (or weekly) coaching, teachers work together with a coach regularly to make progress toward action plan goals or to support an individual child. Teachers can move between types of coaching throughout the year!
